Palm Desert, California

Palm Desert, California

Palm Desert is a place that I have been visiting for years.  My grandparents retired to “the desert” as they called it where that enjoyed the fanfare of the early days of this place really becoming a place.  My grandmother volunteered for years for the Bob Hope classic, and they enjoyed the company of many Hollywood entertainers.

There is an undertone of glamour in the area, buildings that have remained with their neon signage and many of the same businesses are still here after years.

My parents have settled into this lifestyle circa 2020’s but enjoy it and the warm winter weather.   When we travel here from Seattle I enjoy the sun, big skies, and of course the palm trees with up-lighting.  I’ve visited enough that I have a list of favorites in the area which will be available soon in my travel guide section.

On this visit we stayed in the Sands Hotel & Spa which never disappoints (our third stay).  A boutique hotel for adults complete with a swimming pool and cabana situation that can’t be beat.

A beautiful restaurant perfect for dining or drinks is onsite and called the Pink Cabana.

The most design forward Moroccan inspired interior design mixed in with the essence of classic Palm Springs.  I am not sure if it was the fire pit by moonlight or the unexpected upgrade to the Presidential Suite, but this was an incredible stay, again. Did I mention the beautiful stocked bar in the room?

Palm Desert is filled with hidden gems like shopping on El Paseo, the Living Desert, Sherman’s Deli and so much more! If you are looking for sun, palm trees, and amazing people watching jump right in!
